Overeem Deserves a Thrashing

Ultimate Fighting Championship or the UFC Heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos cannot stand The Demolition Man Alistair Overeem. And speaking to TATAME.com, the outspoken Brazilian stated that what the Dutchman really deserves is not a title shot, but a good beating.

He admitted that he had a talk with Dana White, the president of the UFC and told him that he would love the chance to fight Overeem, and beat him as a matter of fact. He is also confident of that happening when the two eventually take to the ring at some point in the future.

According to dos Santos, from his point of view, the Dutchman did not deserve to get the title shot; Cain Velasquez, on the other hand, was due a shot at the title and that is why they will fight at UFC 155. He went on to state that Alistair Overeem deserves a really good beating and he is certain that he will be able to arrange that.

Alistair Overeem and Junior dos Santos were set to go head to head for the UFC Heavyweight Championship at UFC 146, but the Dutchman failed a random dope test prior to the fight that earned him a suspension for the rest of the year. As he is nearing his comeback to the ring, Overeem has been engaging in trash talking, much like Chael Sonnen and it seems that it really has got under the skin of the champion.

Junior dos Santos also made no secret of the fact that he would have preferred Overeem over Velasquez, but the UFC couldn’t take the chance and wait for it. And he is confident that he will be able to do the UFC fans a favor by shutting him up permanently when he gets the chance to meet him.
