Junior dos Santos praises Werdum

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship or the UFC Heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos is ready to get back inside the UFC Octagon after his crushing defeat at the hands of Cain Velasquez on the 29th of December, 2012 at UFC 155 that cost him the title.

And the Brazilian had a long list of possible opponents who could provide decent competition for him as he looks to regain his footing in the division once again in a bid to challenge for the UFC Heavyweight Championship when he stumbled upon the name of Fabricio Werdum.

Speaking to TATAME.com, the Brazilian who the fans love to call ‘Cigano’ stated that according to him, Werdum is one of the best Heavyweight fighters, not only in the UFC but in the entire sport of Mixed Martial Arts. He mentioned that he is an extremely good fighter and some of his jiu-jitsu tactics is almost out of the world. Junior dos Santos also mentioned that Werdum is also a very nice person outside the Octagon as well. Werdum is currently scheduled to take on another Brazilian Antonio ‘Big Nog’ Nogeura in June.

And with that fight almost certain to happen, Cigano is aware that he will have to set up a fight against someone else. He admitted that he has no one in mind at the moment and added that he doesn’t even ask for any particular fight and just takes what the UFC offers him.

Junior dos Santos lost emphatically at the hands of the former UFC Heavyweight champion Velasquez; ironically it was the Cuban American who he had defeated within 64 seconds of their match back in 2011 to win the title in the first place. However, inside sources from the UFC have confirmed that there is no fight scheduled for the Brazilian yet.
